2nd Marine Division

First I reported to Camp Johnson for FMSS (Field Medical Service School) the place that Corpsman learn to work with the Marines. It involved a lot of Physical training and introduction to the Marine way of doing things.

Then it was off to Camp Lejeune and the 3rd Battalion/2nd Marine Regiment. This was my first Marine command and I was assigned as the Senior Corpsman of Kilo Company. We departed for Okinowa and the Philippines (With side trips to HongKong and Japan).

Here I am in the Philippines with some friends from Kilo Company. The guy behind me with the mustache is Corp. Utlie and one of my closest friends in 3/2. A great guy that I will always remember.
We had to guard a downed Chopper on the southern end of Luzon, this was back in the time of the NPA (New Peoples Army). Here I am with some of the local kids, this was "Buggies favorite picture of me".
After we returned, I was reassigned to the BAS (Battalion Aide Station) and we departed for Training in California, 29 Palms (for Desert Warfare Training) and Bridgeport (for Mountain Warfare Training). Here I was the Senior Corpsman in the Combat Log Train with my team. I remember that HN Rutter (to the left) was one of the Craziest Humvee Drivers I have ever had the pleasure to know.

After that I volunteered for the WATC (West African Training Curise) with a Squads of Marines and a Section of AAV's. We visited 6 different countries in West Africa and trained with the Cameroonian Marines.

Then it was time for a change of units. I transfered to the 3rd Battalion / 8th Marine Regiment and departed on the LF6F (Landing Force 6th Fleet) and left for the Mediteranian on the USS Guadalcanal. We did operations in Egypt with the Egyptian Army and practiced AAV assaults with them.

Then it was off for a little Spy Rigging in Sardinia with ANGLECO
